AWLCRAFT® 2000 – A NEW ERA IN TOPCOATS IN 1997

Launched in 1997, Awlcraft 2000 topcoat utilized new acrylic urethane technology that presented some very exciting features for boat owners and coating applicators.

Awlcraft 2000 provided applicators with a faster drying and repairable finish that allowed for faster applications and easier corrections of minor imperfections such as dust inclusion.  Saving time and reliability are huge factors in any coating discussion. When traditional topside coatings become scratched or dinged, an extremely common and unavoidable occurrence, it is difficult to fix the damage – sometimes impossible. But the acrylic urethane technology used in Awlcraft 2000 allowed for easy repairs of surface level damage as these can be buffed out completely with visually undetectable repairs, with a mirror-like shine remaining.

Many Awlgrip products have been called “a dream in a can”, making this term accurate regarding the repairability and general maintenance of an Awlcraft 2000 finish. And with the recent launch of Awlcraft 3000 which incorporates our enhanced color platform, our topcoat range maintains the same application and repairability characteristics that applicators have come to rely on these past 25 years, ensuring that Awlcraft and Awlgrip remain at the cutting edge of innovation.
