Awlgrip founders at US Paint had the foresight to see that the Awlgrip product line needed to encompass other products to fulfill a “complete topside coating system”. This led to the launch of Awlfair LW in 1978, a premium trowlable filler developed with the applicator in mind. An integral step in an above the waterline hull coating system is a fairing compound to smooth out imperfections prior to the final topcoat application. Awlfair LW spreads easily to a super smooth finish, enabling easy sanding and reducing work time for applicators. Additionally, it is easy to mix and has become well known in the industry for its creamy consistency. With excellent flexibility and superior solvent resistance, Awlfair LW helps prevent down glossing of the topcoat. Available in both standard and fast cure systems, it’s easy to see why this is the preferred fairing compound and has been for 45 years!
