AWLGRIP LAUNCHES LOW VOC TWO-IN-ONE GLOSS FINISH PRIMER TO ACCELERATE SUPERYACHT COATING PROCESSES

Awlgrip®, the trusted premium yacht coatings brand, has introduced Gloss Finish Primer — a pioneering two-in-one product that simplifies application processes and reduces VOC emissions for the superyacht market.

Awlgrip Gloss Finish Primer is designed to help professional applicators remove steps from their new-build processes, offering efficiency without compromising performance.

Used as part of the Awlgrip high-performance coatings system, Gloss Finish Primer combines the benefits of a finish primer and a show coat into one product, cutting application steps and simplifying workflows.

The high gloss finish allows applicators to quickly detect and address any surface imperfections before the final topcoat application, helping to reduce the need for costly reworks during crucial project phases.

In addition, the combination of fewer layers and higher volume solids compared to traditional two-layer systems results in a reduction of VOCs by up to 50% per square meter.

Jemma Lampkin, Global Commercial Director at AkzoNobel’s Yacht Coatings, said:

“We developed the Gloss Finish Primer with our customers in mind, knowing that they demand efficiency, durability, and a flawless finish. That’s exactly what our new Gloss Finish Primer delivers.

By combining a high-performance primer with a show coat in one, we’re helping professionals to simplify the painting process and save time, without compromising on quality.

This innovation is a direct response to the industry's need for faster turnaround times, reduced material use and superior results.

We are committed to developing solutions that make our customers’ jobs easier and delivering the premium finishes they expect.”

Gloss Finish Primer is now available across Europe, helping superyacht professionals simplify application processes and deliver outstanding finishes.
