S/Y Antares III, the 30m composite sloop built by New Zealand shipbuilders Yachting Developments and coated with a full Awlgrip Topside system, has been announced as a finalist in the 2012 World Superyacht Awards under the category of ‘Sailing Yachts, 30m-40m size range’.
Built in just 400 days and launched in May 2011, Antares III is an incredibly strong, yet extremely light performance cruising sloop. Coated with a full Awlgrip topsides system, including Awlfair LW, 545 Epoxy Primer and the renowned Awlgrip G-Line topcoat, Antares III has just completed her maiden voyage around the South Pacific Islands.
“Antares III was a very enjoyable project to work on, the team here at Yachting Developments thrived on the challenge. To build such a high quality custom Superyacht with such an amazing finish in the timeframe requested by the client is remarkable” says Ian Cook, Yachting Developments Managing Director.
Brent Gribble, Technical Sales Representative-NZ and Michael Stacey, Yacht Business Manager NZ, worked closely with Ian’s team at Yachting Development to ensure the coating system and finish, above and below water, were as outstanding as the yacht itself.
“Awlgrip is proud to have been a part of this project and would like to congratulate Ian Cook and his team for a job well done. We at Awlgrip wish Antares III the best of luck in the World Superyacht Awards and it’s great to see such a beautiful yacht getting deserved recognition” says Brent.
