Cutting-edge application, outstanding finish

Thraki Yacht Painting, a German-based superyacht finishing and refinishing specialist, recently took part in an advanced training event at our YPAC (Yacht Paint Application Center) in Moordrecht, Netherlands. The training focused on the latest cutting-edge products from Awlgrip – Awlgrip HDT, Awlgrip HDT Clear and Awlcraft SE – demonstrating the application techniques and the outstanding aesthetics that can be achieved with these coatings.
This training was delivered by Roman Boeck, Project Manager at AkzoNobel, with support from Carlisle Germany in the form of DeVilbiss spray guns to ensure an optimal application. A three-stage metallic system was used, consisting of Awlcraft SE Scorcher Yellow Metallic (E9055 & E9056) and Awlgrip HDT Clear, as pictured below:
Also featured was HDT Extreme Black. This new shade clearly shows the flow, opacity and Distinction of Image qualities of Awlgrip HDT:
As an outcome of this training, Thraki Yacht Painting will be using Awlgrip HDT systems in future projects, and we look forward to being amazed by the results. Scratch resistance and the ability to polish the coating were highlighted by Thraki Yacht Painting as valuable characteristics of Awlgrip HDT. New technologies often require time and adjustment to get to grips with the differences, and we are glad to provide our customers with the relevant training.
